How data is processed in the Retail Geek Scanner App
The Retail Geek Scanner App (“the App”) is a staff-only application used by retailers to scan customer loyalty QR codes and manage stamp and reward activity.
This App is intended for retailer employees and authorised staff only. It is not a consumer-facing application.
The Scanner App does not collect personal customer profiles. It processes:
The App also processes staff authentication data, such as user identifiers and login credentials, solely for access control and security purposes.
No customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth or payment details are collected by the Scanner App.
The App uses the device camera solely to scan QR codes on customer loyalty passes.
Camera access is required for core functionality and is never used to record photos, videos, or biometric data.
Data processed by the Scanner App is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore.
Retail Geek Ltd acts as a data processor on behalf of the retailer. Google Firebase acts as a sub-processor.
We do not sell data. Data is shared only with:
Loyalty data is retained according to the retailer’s configuration. Retailers may reset or delete customer loyalty data at any time.
As this is a staff-facing app, customer data requests should be directed to the retailer who controls the loyalty program.
Retailers may contact Retail Geek regarding data access or deletion requests.
The Scanner App is not designed for use by children and should only be used by authorised retailer staff.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.

Authorised retailer staff may delete their Scanner App account directly within the App.
When an account is deleted, the staff authentication record is permanently removed. Deleting a staff account does not delete retailer data, customer loyalty data, or historical transaction records.
